2009: C.J. Lawler Receives 2009 Project Team Award
C.J. Lawler Associates and our project team have received a 2009 Connecticut Building Congress Project Team Award for design and construction of the new wing at Waterbury High School. This yearly awards program recognizes project teams that exemplify close collaboration and excellence in teamwork as an industry standard. The project team included the Waterbury Public Schools (client), O&G Industries (project manager), and Gilbane Building Company (contractor).

 

2009: Principal Jim Lawler LEED Accredited
C.J. Lawler Principal Architect, Jim Lawler, has received his LEED accreditation from the United States Green Building Council. He is bringing his expertise to bear on the Kelly Middle School, in bidding phase in October 2009; this project is anticipated to attain LEED Gold Certification.

 

2008: LEED Building in Design
C.J. Lawler Associates is the project architect for the Renovate-as-New project at the Kelly Middle School in Norwich, CT. The design will be registered as LEED Gold, working toward certification in 2010 - 2011. The project follows a successful referendum vote in 2007; the study was performed and referendum materials assembled by C.J. Lawler Associates.

 

2008: Energy Star Partnership
C.J. Lawler Associates is pleased to be an Energy Star Partner. We are working in conjunction with Energy Star to improve the energy performance of all of our clients' projects. 2007: Green Building / LEED
C.J. Lawler Associates has instituted a firm-wide LEED educational drive; all architects in the firm are studying for LEED Accreditation. In November 2007, James Healy, Project Architect, received his LEED Accreditation.

The firm of C.J. Lawler Associates has been an advocate of green and sustainable building since its inception in 1982; our projects have often included extensive daylighting, linoleum flooring, and other green/sustainable design elements. The LEED system offers a new opportunity for clients to understand and request green buildings. We heartily support this effort to support our environment and future generations by designing and building wisely.

 

2008: C.J. Lawler Featured on Schooldesigner.com Website
C.J. Lawler Associates' design for the Valley Regional High School auditorium has been featured on the SchoolDesigner.com website, in the "Designer Elements" category. Schooldesigner is an online magazine dedicated to excellence in school design.

 

2006: AMERICAN SCHOOL & UNIVERSITY MAGAZINE FEATURES C.J. LAWLER PROJECT
Valley Regional High School in Deep River, CT, completed by C.J. Lawler Associates, with Advent Design as Interiors Consultant, is featured in the 2006 American School and University Magazine Educational Interiors Showcase. The project categories in which Valley Regional High School is featured are: auditoriums / music rooms, cafeteria / food service and libraries / media centers. Valley Regional High School is also featured in the 2006 American School & University Magazine Architectural Portfolio. The project is listed under Outstanding Designs - High Schools.

This is the 5th time that a school designed by C.J. Lawler Associates has been published by AS&U. The firm previously received an AS&U Citation Award for renovations and additions to Hubbell Elementary School, Bristol, CT
